Preparation time: 10 minutes Cooking time: 15–20 minutes Resting time: 5 minutes Makes: 6 Tartlets Ingredients 2 sheets frozen puff pastry1 – thawed according to packet instructions 3 firm small pears – cut in half, cored and sliced lengthways to within 1cm of top 6 tbsp caramel – Dulce De Leche, Nestle Top n Fill or caramel topping Egg wash – 1 egg yolk mixed with 1 tbsp milk 2 tbsp apricot jam To serve (Optional) Caramel sauce, vanilla ice-cream or thick cream. Method 1. Preheat oven to 220̊C. Place the TupperChefTM TupCakes Form on a baking tray and set aside. 2. Place the puff pastry on the Pastry Sheet and cut out 6 x 12cm circles using a petaled pie cutter. 3. Line each cavity of the TupCakes Form with pastry allowing it to overlap. 4. Place 1 tbsp caramel sauce in bottom of each tartlet and sit 1⁄2 a pear in each pastry. Brush inside edges of pastry with egg wash. 5. Bake tartlets in the oven for 15 – 20 minutes, until pastry is puffed and a deep golden colour. 6. Remove from oven and allow to rest for 5 minutes. 7. Brush pastry and pear with apricot jam to create a glossy finish. To serve Serve tartlets warm with a spoonful of warmed caramel, with a good dollop of thick cream or vanilla ice-cream. Kitchen Notes 1 For best results with puff pastry – keep chilled, handle as little as possible and avoid compressing cut edges.
